WHO WE ARE

We started Peterson Brothers because we believe outdoor property work should be done with real skill and honest communication, by people who actually know and care about this place. It is just how we were raised, and Sewanee and the surrounding area is exactly the kind of place where that still matters.

Griffin grew up with a deep love for the outdoors and the land that defines this part of Tennessee. He recently graduated from the University of the South right here in Sewanee with a degree in Sustainability, and that education shapes the way he thinks about every project.

During his time at Sewanee, Griffin interned with the Appalachian Conservation Institute and worked hands-on with Johnny Hunter Construction in the area, learning the land from multiple angles. He brings that background to every job, thinking carefully about plant selection, drainage, erosion, and how outdoor work affects a property over time.

For Griffin, doing the job right means doing it in a way the land can sustain. He knows the Cumberland Plateau well, and that knowledge shows up in the work.

Colton started cutting lawns at 13 and has not stopped since. He brings more than six years of hands-on experience in lawn maintenance, mulching, pruning, shaping, and small stonework projects. That kind of start is rare. By the time most people are figuring out what they want to do, Colton had already built a client base and a reputation.

He is the one on the ground. Day in, day out. Colton is the reason the work gets done right, gets done on time, and gets done the way a client actually wanted it. He has a natural eye for outdoor spaces and a way of listening that most people notice right away. He does not guess at what you want. He asks.

Whether it is a yard that needs consistent, reliable care or a project that requires real attention to detail, Colton shows up prepared, communicates throughout, and holds himself to a high standard. Clients call him back. That is the whole story.
